    After Ohio voters resoundingly beat an ill-formed effort to legislate marijuana last fall, everybody began talking about "doing something" on medical marijuana.

Legal cannabis is finally doing exactly what the drug war couldn`t.

Legal cannabis might be doing at least something that a decades-long drug war could not: taking a bite out of Mexican drug cartels' profits.

The most recent information from the U.S. Border Patrol reveals that last year, marijuana seizures along the southwest border toppled to their least expensive level in at least years. Representatives snagged roughly 1.5 million pounds of cannabis at the border, below a peak of nearly 4 million pounds in 2009.
